 I’m Bill Stanley—diver, sailor, and explorer.

Through Stanley Scuba, Sailing & Adventures, I share real-world experiences from beneath the surface to life on the water and beyond. What started as a personal passion has grown into a platform focused on exploration, gear testing, and storytelling—capturing moments that most people never get to see.

 Whether it’s a night dive, a wreck exploration, sailing new waters, or heading off-road into remote terrain, everything I share is grounded in real environments and real experiences. From beneath the surface to backcountry trails and campsites, this is about exploring beyond the expected—and capturing what it’s actually like to be there. 

 I began diving in 1983 at the age of 13 and have returned to it throughout my life with a renewed focus in recent years. Since then, diving has taken me across the Caribbean and beyond—exploring reefs, wrecks, and underwater environments in both day and night conditions.

My experience includes a wide range of diving certifications and specialties, allowing me to safely explore and test gear in a variety of real-world conditions.

Locations I’ve dived include:
Bahamas, Honduras, Belize, Grand Cayman, Turks & Caicos, Mexico, Galapagos, Dominican Republic, British Virgin Islands, and the USA.

Today, diving is not just something I do—it’s the foundation for how I evaluate gear, capture underwater content, and share the experience with others.

 My sailing journey began in the early 1990s and expanded significantly as I pursued formal training and hands-on experience through offshore passages and bareboat charters.

I’ve sailed throughout the Caribbean and Pacific, including offshore passages covering over 1,000 nautical miles. These experiences have shaped how I approach navigation, planning, and life on the water.

I currently own a 1975, 43’ sloop rigged Gulfstar, and my long-term goal is a multi-year Caribbean sailing and diving journey to explore remote dive sites.

 When I’m not diving or sailing, I’m exploring—off-road trails, remote campsites, and outdoor environments that offer a different kind of escape.

Adventure isn’t limited to one environment. Whether underwater, under sail, or on land, the goal is the same:  experience something real, something different, and something worth remembering.

 I work with brands and companies to test and showcase gear in real-world conditions—underwater, on the water, and off the grid.

This includes:

• Scuba diving gear reviews 
• Underwater drone testing 
• Cameras and lighting equipment 
• Overlanding and off-road gear 
• Camping and field-tested outdoor equipment 

Everything is tested where it actually matters—not in controlled environments, but in the field. Whether it’s underwater, offshore, or deep in the backcountry, the focus is on real use, real conditions, and honest insight.

 There’s a difference between seeing something and experiencing it.

Through video, photography, and storytelling, my goal is to give people a way to step outside their routine—even if just for a few minutes—and explore places they may never otherwise go.

Because sometimes, you just need to escape, reset, and see something different.
